Dormant Account Fees and Forgotten Balances

Inactivity charges are legal at many operators and quietly drain small balances.

Many operators apply a monthly fee to accounts that have had no login or transaction for a defined period, commonly 12 months, until the balance reaches zero.

The term is disclosed in the general terms and is permitted in most jurisdictions provided the operator notifies the customer before charging and the fee is not applied beyond the remaining balance.

Two habits avoid it. Withdraw the full balance when you finish playing rather than leaving small amounts, and close accounts you no longer intend to use rather than abandoning them.

If a dormant fee has already been applied, ask for a breakdown of the charges and the notification record. Where notification was not sent, there is usually a basis for a refund.
