Chargebacks and Gambling Deposits
A chargeback is not a refund route for losses, and using it that way has consequences.
A chargeback reverses a card transaction through the card scheme's dispute process. It exists for unauthorised transactions, goods not received and similar failures.
Losing money gambling is not one of those grounds. Filing a chargeback for a legitimate, authorised deposit will normally result in the operator closing the account, retaining any balance under its terms, and reporting the incident to industry fraud databases that other operators consult.
There are genuine cases: card used without your permission, a duplicate charge, or a deposit taken after a valid self-exclusion. Those are properly disputed, and the self-exclusion case in particular is one regulators take seriously.
If the underlying problem is loss of control rather than a payment error, the effective routes are self-exclusion, a bank gambling block and a support service.

Gambling involves risk and there is no strategy that guarantees a win. Only stake what you can afford to lose. Support is available at BeGambleAware.org and GamCare.
