Age Verification in Online Gambling
Why licensed sites must verify age before you play, not after you win.
In regulated markets, age verification must happen before a customer can deposit or gamble, not at the point of withdrawal.
Operators check age against identity data sources and require documentary evidence where an electronic check fails. Free-to-play versions of games are also restricted where they could act as a gateway for minors.
The reason the timing matters is simple: verifying only at withdrawal creates an incentive to take deposits from people who should never have been allowed to play. Regulators have treated that pattern as a serious failing.
If a site allows you to deposit and play with no age check at all, that is not convenience. It is an indication that the site is not operating under a regime that would enforce one.
