How to Verify a Gambling Licence in Under Two Minutes

A footer badge proves nothing on its own. The check that actually confirms an operator is licensed.

Almost every casino site displays a regulator logo in the footer. An image file is trivial to copy, so the logo itself is not evidence of anything.

The check is simple. Scroll to the footer and find the licensee line: a company name, a registered address and a licence or account number. Copy the company name. Then open the regulator's own public register in a separate tab, typed by hand rather than followed from a link on the casino, and search for that name.

A clean result shows the licensee as active, lists the trading domain you are on, and states which activities are permitted. Warning signs are a lapsed or surrendered status, a licensee whose permitted domains do not include the site you are viewing, or no record at all.

If the register and the footer disagree, treat the disagreement as the answer. Regulators only enforce against the entity named on the licence, so an unverifiable licensee means there is no realistic route to a complaint if something goes wrong.
