What a Deposit Limit Should Do at a Well-Run Casino
Immediate decreases, delayed increases, and no workarounds — the test of a genuine tool.
Deposit limits are the most effective control available to a player, and how an operator implements them says a great deal about the operator.
The standard is straightforward. A decrease takes effect immediately. An increase is subject to a cooling-off period, commonly 24 hours or longer, followed by an explicit confirmation. Limits apply across the account, not per payment method, and cannot be bypassed by opening a second account or a sister brand under the same licence.
Poor implementations hide the setting behind several menus, apply increases instantly, or reset limits silently after a period of inactivity.
Set a limit while you are calm and before you need it. The point of the cooling-off period is to separate the decision from the moment.
